For this reason, we have changed the venue and date for graduation to accommodate everyone. It will be held at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church 4315 NW 23rd Avenue on Friday May 31st at 6:30 PM. We will have refreshments in the courtyard following the ceremony. We have previously asked for a $20.00 graduation fee. If you are unable to afford that amount, please send what you can. Continue reading »]]> Dear Parents, Hoggetowne Middle School takes the issue of bullying very seriously. We have a very strict no bullying policy. If any student feels that they are being bullied we encourage them to come to a staff member immediately. When we receive a report of bullying from a student or parent we immediately start taking action to peacefully resolve the issue. There are procedures in place that are followed and the sooner the issue is resolve the sooner the student can move forward feeling safe and secure. We have a student conflict resolution group that is trained and sponsored by the River Pheonix Foundation for Peace. These students have been in training through this wonderful foundation for the past three months. We are proud of these students for their dedication to the training and to the commitment of carrying out these extremely important tasks that are bestowed upon them.

I’m so excited to announce that The Wizard of Oz is coming to you in just a month! The show will be at The Actors’ Warehouse (the purple building 608 N Main Street) on Friday, May 3rd at 6pm! Tickets are limited and ONLY AVAILABLE IN ADVANCE. There will be a recommended donation on a sliding scale from $3 to $5.

Continue reading »]]> Hello All, Lots to tell you after the PTG meeting today. As many of us know FCAT is coming up. FCAT testing will begin on April 15 and will not end until April 26th. We all know the importance of eating well during this testing. Ms. Nelda is asking for donations of Check Mix and Trail Mix to give to the students during the breaks from this testing. These are good tasting brain food for the students. She will also need some lunch sandwich bags to put them in to be handed out to the students. Please have all donations at the school no later than Thursday, April 11th after school.

We are also starting $1.00 Mondays. every student brings in $1.00 on Monday. The home room class with the most money will have a Poster outside the hallway door that states this homeroom is the homeroom of the week winner. The homeroom students that wins the most homeroom of the week and raises a minimum of $100 between now and the end of school; each student and teacher in that homeroom will receive an extra special free pancake stack on Wednesday, May 30th. With special toppings for their pancake or waffles.

We will continue to do the pancakes and waffles on every Wednesday morning. The cost for a stack of pancakes or waffles is $2.00. Donations are always welcome. Syrup, Complete Pancake Mix, plates and napkins would be greatly welcomed. Both the students and teachers are really enjoying this treat and thanks to Julie and Jane for taking on this very important role.

We will also soon be receiving the BUBAQs tickets and we will send out another email when they are available. We also need to sell more advertisement for the year book. If we get enough people to advertise the cost of each student having a year book will be low. Please ask anyone who owns a business if they would like to advertise and or if you want to tell your student in a big way how proud you are of them; this would be the way to do it. We need to sell at least 8 more adds and we need your help.

Thanks to everyone who was at the meeting tonight. Your opinion counts. The next and last meeting for this school year will be on Monday, May 7th at 3:45pm in Mr. Thompson room. Please feel free to contact me if you can help with anything.
