Dear Parent and/or Guardian of Hoggetowne 8th grade student, We are half way through the school year and graduation will be coming up on us fast, so we need to let you know what is coming up. As we told you at the beginning of the school year the 8thgrade graduation cost must be paid by the parent or guardian of the student. The cost of graduation is $50.00 per 8th grader. This cost includes their cap and gown for the ceremony, the 8th grade breakfast at a local restaurant, their diploma and display folder for the diploma and the awards that will be handed out that night. This money must be paid completely by May 16, 2014 so the cap and gowns can be ordered. You may start paying now and pay weekly, monthly or of course all at once. If your student’s money is not paid by May 16th they will not be able to attend the breakfast or the ceremony. That does not mean that they will not graduate on to 9th grade,it means they simply will not be part of the graduation celebration. All money should be turned into Ms. Shelly. The graduation ceremony will be on the night of May 30that 6:00pm and held at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. The address is 4315 N. W. 23rd Ave., Gainesville, FL. 32606. There will be refreshment directly following the ceremony. The 8th graders that pay their graduation money will be going to a local restaurant for breakfast on May 28th. There will also be an 8th grade social on May 23rd, 2014. This social will be held at the school and is for the 8th graders only. Refreshments will be served and it is free to all 8th graders at Hoggetowne Middle School. We encourage the students to dress up for this social. There will be music and dancing. As always your student must not have any referrals within a week of the planned event in order to be able to go to that event. If you have any question please contact the school or myself. My cell number is 352-494-5010. Sincerely Yours, Shelia Miller PTG President — Cathy Flint Asst. Principal *Hoggetowne Middle School* *for the* *Performing Arts*
